Descriptive statistics

What are descriptive statistics?

Descriptives statistics contain 'frequencies', 'descriptives' and 'explore'. You'll need these functions to describe your data. If you, for example, want to know how many men and how many women your research contains, you'll need the 'frequencies' function. The mean age however, is to be found with 'descriptives'. 'Explore' is being used to examine the 'form' of the data; can you assume the data is normal distributed (a very important assumption in statistics)?
